Moonlighter 2 Bosses: All 6 Realm Bosses & 12 Minibosses

Boss list verified:

The Herald — Kalina, Day Realm

3 phases · Drop: Sound of Harmony (rare material) + 2 chests · Achievement: Out of Tune (hidden)

Starts every phase behind 6 energy shields. Catch the purple bomb blobs with your backpack and throw them back to strip shields; if you fail to push him to the next phase during the stun, he comes back with only 3 shields. Phase 2 destroys the right-hand cover and adds a two-way laser; phase 3 removes all cover and layers bombardment over the laser sweep.

Minibosses on this floor: Dafest, Guardian of Disco-Hell · Garr'x, Dancefloor Assassin

Thalaam — Kalina, Night Realm

3 phases · Drop: Boss material + 2 chests (name not documented) · Achievement: The Fallen King (hidden)

Bell-throwing fight: the backpack snaps to the bells you throw to break his shield, and Patch 1 added a shield bar so you can read how much protection is left. Rated a clear step above The Herald by players.

Minibosses on this floor: Hajji, Queen of Techno · Punkest, Oracle of the After

The Curator — The Gallery, Exhibition Wing

3 phases · Drop: Quantum Core + 2 chests · Achievement: Forced Shutdown

The arena floor telegraphs his attacks: a saw-blade roll along one lane, then across all four lanes, then lasers with an electrified outer ring. Phase 2 knocks off his lower half and adds a bomb-throwing shield bubble; in phase 3 the detached part fights alongside him and becomes a second damage target.

Minibosses on this floor: 4RT-TR4P, Exhibition Champion · V3NUS, Muse of the Gallery

Tyke — The Gallery, Treasury Halls

3 phases · Drop: Boss material + 2 chests (name not documented) · Achievement: Dismissal Letter

Security chief of the Gallery. Fast arena fight with waves of pink energy orbs (see the official screenshot). Beating Tyke is required for the Treasury Halls' story quest and frees a captured friend.

Minibosses on this floor: Sergeant Trajano, Treasury guard · Sergeant Roberto, Treasury guard

Senda — Aeolia, Zephyr Fields

2 phases · Drop: The King's Left Mask + 2 chests · Achievement: Wind Slumber

Phase 1 cycles four attacks: wind turbines plus 6 boomerangs (every third one can be batted back), two orbiting capsules with triple shots, a spinning charge with chaotic side projectiles, and a 10-direction barrage from a wind shield. Phase 2 shrinks the arena, removes the middle and doubles the boomerangs to 12.

Minibosses on this floor: T-Hawk, Pro-Glider · Orphis, The Orb Keeper

Monte — Aeolia, Howling Harbor

3 phases · Drop: Boss material + 2 chests (name not documented) · Achievement: Sweet Petrichor

Electric-arrow lunges, expanding shock waves fired three times in a row and rain-soaked arena hazards. Widely rated the hardest and most dynamic boss of the Early Access build; Patch 1 fixed his broken interphase cinematic and added a shield bar.

Minibosses on this floor: Ataulfo, The Rumbling Colossus · Wisteria, The Anchor

All 12 minibosses

Minibosses spawn with two or three helpers; every guide agrees on killing the helpers first, because taser and stun effects wear off much faster on the miniboss itself. Elites and minibosses do not enter the Rupture state, so the backpack throw only works on their adds.

Boss questions

How many bosses are in Moonlighter 2?

Six realm bosses (one per floor: The Herald and Thalaam in Kalina, The Curator and Tyke in The Gallery, Senda and Monte in Aeolia), 12 minibosses (two per floor, one fought halfway through each run) and Moloch as the story antagonist.

What is the first boss?

The Herald, at the end of Kalina’s Day Realm. Break his six shields by catching his purple bomb blobs with the backpack and throwing them back, then hit him during the stun. Beating him for the first time starts the quest that opens the Night Realm.

Which boss is the hardest?

Community guides and boss videos consistently name Monte (Aeolia, Howling Harbor) as the hardest and most dynamic fight of the Early Access build, with Tyke and Thalaam a step above their Day-floor counterparts.

What is Boss Rush?

A dungeon mode added in the Blob-Life update with only perk rooms and boss fights. There is one per dimension plus an Interdimensional rush with all six bosses; each rewards a new weapon aspect and gives fast access to boss materials.
